Announcements and volunteer needs for the week…

Hello everyone! I certainly hope you plan to attend next Wednesday’s general PSO meeting. Although everyone is invited and encouraged to attend, I would love to see as many leads as possible in attendance. It would be great for any parents new to the school to put a face to your name and hear what you do! If you can’t make it, please contact me at  PSO@LincolnPrep.org so we can catch up. Thank you.

We are very much looking forward to the Lincoln Prep picnic/potluck on Saturday, March 3rd, from 2:30 to 6:30, at Tumbleweed Park.  All Lincoln Prep families and staff are invited. PSO will be providing hot dogs, chips and water, so bring the whole family out for some great food, games (and prizes), and community-building fun that will include many of LP’s fabulous teachers! We still have some potluck needs, so please view the potluck sign up here!

Ms. Nguyen has contacted me and asked if I could send out a call to volunteers to assist with the upperclassmen dance, The Blue and Gold Ball: A Midnight Masquerade, next Friday, March 2nd.  The dance is for grades 8, 9, and 10. This is a great way to meet some of the families of the students that your child will be hanging out with (hmmm….not a bad idea, right?). Kindly email Ms. Nguyen at cnguyen@lincolnprep.org if you would like to assist.

Speaking of volunteer needs, I am in need of  1 to 6 volunteers to coordinate field trips and serve as alternates for field trips. I would like to have one for each grade level. I’m also looking ahead to next year’s field trips. Although I very much enjoyed attending the 6th grade field trip on Tuesday, I don’t have a 6th grade student. It would be nice to have a parent alternate with a child in that grade level next time around. Please contact me at PSO@LincolnPrep.org if you would be interested in doing this. It’s EASY if you only have one field trip to coordinate per year, and it’s a great volunteer position for someone who doesn’t have the schedule to volunteer during the school day on a regular basis.

I hope you have a fun weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the meeting and picnic next week. As always, thank you for taking the time to read this week’s blog.
