Is it finally Friday?

It’s been a busy week here at Lincoln Prep, and I’m happy it’s Friday! A great way to start the weekend would be to treat your kids to a delicious and healthy smoothie at Nekter Juice Bar during our  first Family Fun Night TODAY. It’s going on from 3 to 8pm and Nekter is located at 4041 S. Gilbert Rd (Gilbert and Ocotillo). Remember to mention Lincoln Prep BEFORE you order. Twenty percent of sales benefit the Lincoln Prep PSO. Thanks for supporting the Lincoln Prep PSO!

After you treat the kids to a smoothie, I hope you are joining us for “The Blue and Gold Classic,” parent-only dance here at Lincoln Prep from 7-9pm. Several folks have mentioned that they will be meeting at the Native Grill at Gilbert and Germann prior to the dance. I invite you to join us!

Last Wednesday was a very busy PSO day here at Lincoln Prep. I am so grateful to those of you who were able to attend the PSO meeting, where I announced that Beth Watkins will be your PSO President for the 2018-2019 school year. There are a few positions that we would like to fill prior to the end of the school year. We have been busy sorting the PSO interest cards that you filled out in your registration packets, and we will be contacting you within the next couple of weeks if you expressed interest in leading a committee. If you could not make it to the meeting and would like the meeting agenda or minutes emailed to you, please email me, Terry Burget, at PSO@LincolnPrep.org.

Thank you also to those who contributed to the spectacular Italian-themed teacher appreciation luncheon, organized by Tracy Vickery. As usual, it looked just great and teachers stopped to express their gratitude. Our uniform sale, likewise, was beautifully organized by our Used Uniform Committee Lead, Stephanie Niemyjski, and was a HUGE success. Thank you, volunteers and parents, for your contributions, time and support!

On the topic of expressing gratitude, I would like to remind you all that Teacher Appreciation Week is quickly approaching. It is from May 7th to May 11th. If you would like to treat your favorite teachers to something special, you may stop in and view the teacher wish lists in the LP front office.

Our Fundraising Committee Lead, Jacque Smith would like me to remind you to that we are partnered with Fry’s Food and Drugstores for fundraising. Please visit our Fundraising page for more information on how you can sign up for that, and for information on our other fundraisers, here.

Our last social event of the school year has been scheduled for Saturday, May 19th at Sunsplash in Mesa from 11am to close. Tracy Vickery has negotiated a ticket price of $22 per person (40% off regular weekend price) if they are bought as a group. Please see her Sign Up Genius for additional information, and to reserve your tickets here!

Stay posted over the next couple weeks, as we will have several volunteer opportunities available including final exam proctoring.  We will also have a need for volunteers and donations for Fine Arts Night and the Spring Sports Banquet. We are in the process of creating sign-ups for these events.
