Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 7th to May 11th. Teacher wish lists are in the LP front office. Make sure to take a look if you would like to treat your devoted and hard-working teachers. They have treated us very well during this uncertain time, and I know I couldn’t be more grateful that they have come to teach our children over the past week. Let’s show them how much we care about them too! Thank you for expressing your gratitude and making our teachers feel special.
It was also wonderful to see our community pull together and bring delicious and nourishing meals for our teachers over the past week-and-a-half. Many people contributed to the spectacular pizza buffet last week, and it did not end there! Donations for the following days included treats such as croissants with marmalade and fruit, Klondike and Outshine bars, bagels and cream cheese, muffins and fruit, and Bosa Donuts and coffee. Thank you Lincoln Prep Families for your generous contributions! It was great to show the teachers how grateful we were for choosing to be here with our children as the walk-out was taking place.
If you are able to donate time, please consider this valuable gift to our teachers! We are in need of 17 parent volunteer proctors daily during final exam week. Final exams will be on Tuesday May 22nd, Wednesday May 23rd, and Thursday May 24th. Proctoring for our teachers is easy, fun, and truly a gift to our awesome teachers. You can read more information and sign up here.
We will have our last Family Fun Night of the year at Chipotle, on Monday, May14th. It is located at 2895 S. Alma School Rd in Chandler. The event will run from 4-8pm with proceeds to benefit the LP PSO. Tell them you are with Lincoln Prep before ordering. I look forward to seeing you and your family there, because we all love Chipotle!
Our last social event of the school year has been scheduled for Saturday, May 19th at Sunsplash in Mesa from 11am to close. Tracy Vickery has negotiated a ticket price of $22 per person (40% off regular weekend price) if they are bought as a group. In order to get the discounted price, you must go to her Sign Up Genius to reserve your tickets here. If you signed up for tickets, please drop off your money, labeled with your name and number of tickets purchased, at the LP front desk ASAP.
I realize that volunteer needs are heavy throughout the month of May. Please consider signing up for even one thing, so that the work gets spread out. We are all very busy, but many hands make light work. These events absolutely require a group effort. Thank you so much for gifting your time!
The Spring Fine Arts Night will be next Thursday, May 10th, from 7 to 8:30pm. Sandy Ashbaugh is leading the volunteer effort, and is looking for volunteers to help set up, clean up and donate refreshments. Please view her sign up here.
In other volunteers needs, Christina Burke has published the Sign Up Genius for the Spring Sports Banquet that takes place on Tuesday, May 8th, at 6pm. Please sign up to assist her here.
I just took a viewing of the lunch sign up for the rest of the year. WOW! I have sent out very few reminders this quarter, and there are only a couple of slots open. Thank you so much to all of our fabulous lunch volunteers who have been feeding our students all year long! If you would like to help fill that sign up completely (and get a sneak peek at who your kiddos are hanging out with…..sneaky, sneaky!!) please sign up here.
Just a reminder that in order to volunteer at school, you MUST have been fingerprinted and cleared. To help you get cleared and ready to volunteer, we have a fingerprinting event scheduled here at Lincoln Prep on Wednesday, May 16th from 8 to 10am.Please plan on attending so we can get you on our volunteer list. As you can see, there are many fun volunteer events that we would love your assistance with.
I appreciate that you stopped to read the above novel (okay, perhaps more like a short story)…..now go off and enjoy your long weekend after signing up for something!
